Madame Jo Jos’ is delighted to welcome back London's most glamorous diva, Velma Celli, who along with her Screaming Queenz, takes you on a titillating, satirical journey through burlesque, cabaret and musical theatre with intimate laughter-and-tears moments and razor-sharp parodies of everything from old musicals to reality TV.
Inspired by the legendary Bob Fosse, Velma’s show is a mix of musicals, pop, and jazz with electrifying dance numbers and show-stopping songs from Judy to Beyonce,

Velma’s guests in for December include West End stars Amanda Posner, Zoe Curlett, and Katie Cameron.. Amanda has appeared in the London Production of Avenue Q, RENT and Bad Girls, Zoe has starred in The Phantom Of The Opera, Cats and Les Miserables and Katie (Broadway gal) has appeared in Chicago and A Chorus Line.
Velma is brought to you by the awesomely talented Ian Stroughair who appears tonight as his alter ego, the fabulous Velma Celli. Ian made his West End theatre debut aged 20 and has appearing in Cats, Fame and Chicago. It was during his run in the cast of Chicago, where was appearing as Mary Sunshine that he got the idea for his character Velma Celli. He began to develop the character and gathering together a group of fellow artists from other West End shows they formed a troupe, Velma Celli and her Screaming Queenz. They began appearing regularly in the West End, including at Madame Jojo’s celebrated club night Trannyshack. In May 2010 Velma Celli launched her very own show at Madame Jojo’s to great acclaim, and now has a monthly residency.
Ian’s dance idol is Bob Fosse and a dynamic, feisty Fosse style runs throughout Velma’s show. Ian has been teaching at Pineapple Dance Studios for the last five years, coaching a new generation in the arts of Musical Theatre and Jazz dancing. Ian is also a director and choreographer of West End Connections - a series of individual, intimate cabaret shows at Madame Jojo’s starring such solid gold artists as Louise Dearman, Chloe Hart, Zoe Birkett and Julie Atherton. These musical theatre showcases are hugely popular and highly successful, starring the finest talent that London’s Theatreland has to offer.
