The Jim Jones Revue album launch: Thursday 2nd September at Madame Jojo's

An explosion of raw, satanic rock 'n' roll power will light up Madame Jojo's when the astounding Jim Jones Revue launch their latest album tonight. The sheer visceral punch of their live show makes this one of the summer's hottest tickets!

The internationally-acclaimed Jim Jones Revue is the former Thee Hypnotics and Black Moses leader's five-piece rock'n'roll outfit. In 2008 they made a dynamic debut with their eponymous album, which succeeded in capturing the amazing Jim Jones in full-on, manic flight. The new album Burning Your House Down, unleashes the infamous Hammond hurricane from powerhouse keyboardist Elliot Mortimer. Guitarist Rupert Orton's rama-lama-lamming adds to the psychotic mayhem while bassist Gavin Jay and drummer Nick Jones rocket along at the back.

And that's just the record! Their incendiary live show is an unholy, howling fusion of influences: Jerry Lee Lewis, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Hendrix, Hasil Adkins, The Sonics, MC5, Elvis, with Jones screaming and hollering like Gerry Rosalie one minute and Lux Interior the next, over songs straight out of the Sun, Chess and Specialty stables. All five musicians are at the top of their game. The Jim Jones Revue is carrying the torch for 'proper' rock ‘n’ roll - dirty, forceful and utterly irresistable!

“Rock and roll sounds dangerous again” - Stephen Haag, PopMatters.

DJ: Debra Damage (Tits of Death/The Dirty Dee Tees).
