WHITE HEAT EVERY TUESDAY AT MADAME JOJO'S
Wild Cub + The Mispers - £6 Advance
* Tuesday 19th November
"Somewhere between the shaggy indie rock appeal of Generationals and the synth dance shades of Kisses. Hell, “Wishing Well” even throws some 80s nods to classic Peter Gabriel. Wild Cub draw rich water from a variety of wells but the cocktail they mix is undeniably their own." - The Burning Ear
London five-piece The Mispers, despite only forming less than a year ago, have taken the city by storm with an incredible seven sold out shows at the Borderline, Lexington, Hoxton Bar & Grill, Queen of Hoxton, Notting Hill Arts Club, The Old Queens Head and The Shacklewell Arms.
Influenced by bands like The Maccabees, Bombay Bicycle Club, The XX and Phoenix, this exciting new outfit describe their music as "energetic, both physically and emotionally. In terms of comparisons, we've had so many thrown our way and none really stick. There are folk elements to our sound but any die hard folk fans would probably cringe if they heard we'd been placed in that category. Everyone has a different take on it, so we'll just let people decide for themselves."
* Tuesday 26th November
FEMME + Jon Phonics + Machines - tickets are £6 advance
+ Goldroom DJing late night
We've FEMME coming to play Live for us. Support from Machines: & Jon Phonics. Following the successful release of her début AA single in July, FEMME, aka Laura Bettinson, sashays back onto the scene with another dynamite double-header. 'Heartbeat / Fever Boy' takes her feisty pop formula and runs with it, with both gloriously addictive tracks sure to bring some sunshine to your speakers as the nights start to draw in.
'Fever Boy' is a swaggeringly upbeat story of runaway romance pitched somewhere between Robyn, Debbie Harry and The Shangri-Las, and features Bettinson at her most charismatic. In contrast, the blissful stomp of 'Heartbeat' explores the aftermath of a relationship, aided by an absolutely gigantic chorus. Like all of FEMME's work, the singles are 100% Bettinson – not only did she write and record them herself, she also produced all the artwork and directed both videos.
A one-woman creative powerhouse that also incorporates art, film and fashion, FEMME's music has been featured on adidas campaigns and selected by Stella McCartney to accompany two different catwalk collections. She also finds time to front Ultraísta, the supergroup formed by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, an adventure that has seen her perform on David Letterman, support Flying Lotus, and be remixed by Four Tet, Matthew Herbert and David Lynch. acclaimed releases by FTSE and Enjoyed, and the release of 'Fever Boy' / 'Heartbeat' is the next step in a blossoming career. It'll not only be available digitally and on CD, but will also be pressed onto limited edition pink heart-shaped vinyl. Better call a doctor, because FEMME fever is spreading

High rotation singles, main stage festival appearances all over Europe and many hours locked in their home studio/dungeon, writing their debut album.
Brother-sister duo Southern come over from Belfast to give us their unique mixture of Alternative, Acoustic/Electric Indie which drifts into a modern style of bluegrass.
You might recognise Jay Brown's surname because we had her equally talented sister, VV, play for us earlier in the year. This sibling does things a little different with indie nods to country, the odd electronic foray and a slick sense of humour. Hailed as something of a 'next big thing' she's just come off the back of summer festivals and work on her debut LP.
