* Tuesday 14th February
Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr + Hooded Fang + Citizens!

What could be more romantic than White Heat Club? Throw in two bands coming to us from across the pond and fast rising locals and we've a night of hot love* for you.

Taking their name from the well known (over there at least) sportsman and previously touring with EMA / blogged almost to death by almost everyone stateside we're finally getting a chance to see them over here. This sentence from Brooklyn Vegan seems to sum up their live shows "There wasn't much room for dancing in the packed room, but that didn't stop people from trying, and their light-hearted and energetic set certainly helped propel me through the rest of the night."

"part of that shambolic, loose guitar pop that has become so popular in the last couple years, but it has subtle layers bringing fairly simple song structures to more atmospheric places." - BBC

Quoth Kitsune! "Citizens! is a fantastic new band freshly signed to Kitsuné. Five handsome London boys who pen songs with a panoramic view. Warm, welcoming, traditional, as classy as marble… icing on cake they are produced by no one else than Alex Kapranos!

Composed by Martyn, Thom, Mike, Lawrence and Tom , Citizens! is a call to arms, a statement, a mark in the sand. Their bold statement is that they reclaim pop cause “Pop is not a dirty word. It’s a holy one.” "

*We don't provide the hot love - we provide conditions amenable to procurement of hot love

Get People + Sylver Tongue + Young Dreams

Three new bands for us constituting our February pop moment, one playing their first London show, one over from Bergen and one set of proper, honest-to-god locals.

Get People have released a single on Hit Club, toured with Metronomy & been remixed by Crystal Fighters. Something there caught our eye and here they are. "achingly good bit of synth-pop... the stripped back aesthetic and subtle layering gives it a complex fluidity"
www.facebook.com/getpeople

"Sylver Tongue’s 'Hook You Up' is going on my list of year-end bests. Lusciously wounded vocals headline this purple-toned track, allowing it to possess a naked, sweeping force not unlike the great power ballads of decades past. Except in this one, the power is less about bleating trembling notes than the ability to transform the listener’s mood after one breath. Sure, there are instruments: tambourine clips, watery synths, bubblepop drums, a gauzy bassline—but they’re just a backdrop in front of which our heroine may slink. Lovely, just lovely." - RCRD LBL

"Fusing Tropicália, psychedelic rock, classical, symphonic arrangements and traditional pop recalling the classic sounds of Brian Wilson and Phil Spector"

Line of Best Fit 5th Birthday celebration with Icona Pop Live

We're right excited to be helping our friends over at LoBF to celebrate.

Will let you know on the bands soon...

They say:
In February 2012, The Line Of Best Fit will be 5 years young. We will of course be celebrating this milestone in style, culminating in a huge party at Soho's Madame Jojo's where once again we'll join forces with White Heat for an unforgettable night.

* Tuesday 22nd March
The History of apple Pie + Guests

"The History Of Apple pie are like isle peers Yuck in the sense that their sound is a resurrection of late ’80s/early ’90s American indie rock perfected by groups like Dinosaur Jr. " - Stereogum

* Tuesday 27th March - £5 Advance Tickets
Jacuzzi Boys + Guests

This is going to be a party.

"If these goofy Miami garage punks ever come to your town, be there with beer money. After a 2009 album, assorted seven-inch singles, and a recent live recording for Jack White's Third Man imprint, Jacuzzi Boys have taken their place among the best sloppy racket-makers bashing out easy-boogie soundtracks to your next drunken night at the local rock dive..."

While definitely within the garage milieu, there's definitely more going on here with this Miami trio. Jacuzzi Boys sound is less blown-out sounding than most of their brethren, with a strong post-VU New York vibe with them -- Television and The Feelies are pretty obvious influences here I think -- and their album from last year, No Seasons, is pretty damn great.

DJing between the bands we've got the world famous Gemma K-Tep.

* Tuesday 17th April - £5 Advance Tickets
Sleep Party People + Guests
I first saw them in Oslo a while back, got em to play a free show at the Lexington last year and now they're coming over with a new single & album!

" the most delicate, serene and atmospheric pop music these ears have heard in a long, long time" - The Line of Best Fit
