Tuesday 20th July: LATENIGHT DJing: Jeffrey Jerusalem
He's from Americaaaa, he last played for us as part of Yacht and - well - that's a pretty great pedigree right there. Here's a quote I found on a blog which I think should give you an idea.
"Every once in a while, a surprising artist transforms a party with their performance. This was the case with Jeffrey Jerusalem, a young man from Portland who played a set at a Yacht after-party I attended in San Francisco. It was a short set, maybe around 30 minutes, but as soon as he started the party became the most exciting it had been all night. "

Tuesday 27th July: LATENIGHT DJing: The Lovely Jonjo

Him of Durrr and Hot Boy Dancing Spot and trundling all over the world to DJ fame. The guy you'd be happily dancing along to and then – “What? How did this get in here? This is amazing!” - would happen.

Shunda K (Yo Majesty)
"Yo Majesty take their cue from ESG and bang out hip hop infused new wave disco jams" -DJ Magazine.
"At last punk-funk-crunk rap!" – Mixmag.
"They've coined a female equivalent of macho that is far removed from the hypersexualized come 'n' get it attitude" - Time Out London.
"Regular rhythmic shifts, an abundance of pop smarts and a soulful aggro" - Plan B Magazine.

Tuesday 3rd August: Age of Consent (Ex Shitdisco) + Paper Crows
Age of Consent (Ex Shitdisco)
Age of Consent comprise former members of one of our favourite bands/DJs of the last few years - Shitdisco! Shitdisco played White Heat for the first time back in 2005. The following year they headlined a sold out show with Klaxons. Since then they've become pretty famous as DJs and have now got a new band, Age of Consent, and a new DJ project to go with it! www.myspace.com/ageofconsent

Paper Crows
Paper Crows are Emma Panas and Duncan McDougall. They’ve been making music together for a year. They're currently recording their first album and can't wait for you to hear it!

Tuesday 10th August: White Heat 7th Birthday Party Part II: Fools Gold + Tinashé
Part II of White Heat’s 7th Birthday celebrations with very special guests Fools Gold and Tinashé!

Fools Gold
“… if you like a little Africa in your America … if you feel like an irresistible top-down-on-a-sunny-day kind of record … if you want to hear what Vampire Weekend would sound like on steroids” … then get Fool’s Gold” - Kroq.radio.com.

Tinashé
Tinashe writes supremely addictive pop songs, bearing a lightness of touch that produces music at once euphoric and life-affirming, music that’s equally evocative of a life shared between two vastly different continents and cultures. After spending the first decade of his life living in one room with nine relatives in Harare, the 25-year-old Zimbabwean says "I'll always be an outsider … I see the world differently because of where I've come from, but I see that as an advantage.”
His mother fled Zimbabwe to create a new life for her family in Camberwell. Thrown into the vortex of Nineties Britain, Tinashé found a passion for music, first through the tunes he would hear in his mum’s kitchen, a mix of pop from the radio and Soukous - dance tunes from central and eastern Africa. This music sparked memories of relatives who could play the Mbira thumb piano or Djembe drum, instruments that Tinashé plays with fluency and flair. The mbira, which conjures a genuine tear-dropping effect, featured on Tinashé’s debut release ‘Mayday’.

Tinashé’s songs are magical and uplifting, not dirges of despair and discontent. “I didn't want to make just another pop album with no depth, it has to have longevity ..." The album ‘Saved’, entirely written and produced by Tinashé, with assistance from engineer Cenzo Townshend (Bloc Party, Late Of The Pier, Editors) is out 6th September. It promises to be one of the releases of the year, a collection of whip smart pop songs from a star-in-waiting.

Tuesday 17th August: Gold Panda + Max Tundra + Dam Mantle
Rockfeedback and White Heat present a special night curated by the excellent one man band Gold Panda - featuring three special talents in the world of innovative and exciting electronica.

White Heat & Rockfeedback Present:
Gold Panda

“Enough mesmerizing skill to make our year-end list … a sniper's exactness; the drums drift from hip-hop to the dance floor … intimidatingly technical; furiously simple” - Pitchfork.
“When he got the bass pounding and started throwing some cool loops and samples on top, there would be a dance-gasm in the crowd” – Chart Attack.

Max Tundra
Max Tundra AKA Ben Jacobs needs no introduction. Since his Nineties debut as a teenage electronic prodigy he has pioneered with his tricky time signatures, rapid synth lines and obliquely infectious melodies.
“He displays a pure pop sensibility reminiscent of Todd Rundgren at his lysergically charged best, stuffed with sweetly angular melodies, rhythmic punch and blasts of cheesiness” – BBC Music.
Ben has strongly implied that 2008’s Parallax Error Beheads You was the final Max Tundra album, so catch ‘Max’ while you can ...

Dam Mantle
“Tom Marshallsay’s music stands apart with a distinct Technicolor sound palette and a rich seam of raw musicality running through it … each layer of rhythm and melody twists around the others, tightening in knots before unravelling again as patterns continually shift and alternate. The beauty lies in Marshallsay’s orchestration of these various threads and to see it live is astonishing, both meticulous and chaotic at the same time” – Glasgowmusic.co.uk.
