Dirty Little Secret, Thursday 14th May at Madame Jojo’s

Opening band: The Housewives performing with Trixie Malicious
Since forming in 2006, The Housewives have been gigging all over the UK as well as in their home town London, supporting the likes of The Young Knives, Bloc Party and Belle and Sebastian, and sharing a stage with Victorian English Gentlemans Club and Doll and the Kicks. They've played a live session on Absolute Radio, and been featured by Tom Robinson on 6Music. Their music throws together indie, rave, drum and bass and whatever else they can find. Later this year, they'll be releasing a cover of The Long Blondes' 'Autonomy Boy' on FLA.
“Set to clean up? We think so … ” – Ones to Watch, Clash Magazine.
"Mum-friendly sophisto-pop" - Artrocker.

These loveable rogues could not have been teamed up with a better performer. The voluptuous and wicked Trixie Malicious says her favourite quote is 'everything in moderation including moderation'. "I'm polite and responsible and nerdy, but sometimes it is nice to head bang naked in the gutter, mainly if the music is good". Her performance will blow your mind!

Second band: The Ruby Shoes performing with Miss Cherry Shakewell The Ruby Shoes are a throbbing indie/rock 'n' roll four-piece citing The White Stripes, Kings of Leon, Kasabian, The Zutons and Led Zeppelin as major influences. The 'Shoes have opened for the likes of The Subways, The Runners, Towers of London, Art Brut & The Datsuns and have headlined at Club NME events across the country. With their energetic live show they bring back the classic rock ‘swagger’ to the current indie sound, with amazing onstage momentum, as many reviewers will testify!
"You can hardly argue with a band as ass-shakingly-groin-swellingy-pant-wettingly-sleazily glam as this foursome" - Club NME.

To perform with these ruffians, Dirty Little Secret welcomes the return of the fabulous Miss Cherry Shakewell. Cherry will be ripping up the stage and tearing down the morals of decent folks as she teases and tantalises her way through the band's final number. With that mischievous glint in her eye, she can cause a stirring in even the most straight-laced individual.

Headliners: Philadelphia Main Line performing with Kitty Bang Bang
Scuzz blues duo Philadelphia Main Line, one Australian and one Londoner, has been detonating the London scene since 2005, taking blues and rock and roll into the future. Sonic onslaughts on eardrums may cause slight damage; their show sends shivers down spines and moves the audience to frenzied excitement. Finger-shredding riffs and larynx-bursting vocals are backed up by thunderous drum explosions pinched with jazzy fills. They're a must-see!
"Playing scuzz-rock blues they made more noise than a duo physically should be able to do. A great bluesy set" - Rockbeatstone.com.
"... devilish stomp ... their cracker of a debut EP, which reached our hands last week, sounds like a Tasmanian Devil Brian Wilson" - The Fly.
