Deep Funk at Madame Jojo's, Friday 28th May
After fifteen years, tonight heralds the last Madame Jojo’s Deep Funk … as we know it. Deep Funk, along with Madame Jojo’s, is moving into a new golden era!
This monster London institution, with legions of fans across the globe, has seen countless funksters grooving on the famous dancefloor: from international clubbers to Funk and Soul-loving Londoners; from those who grew up with the music in the Sixties and Seventies, to new generations of enthusiasts introduced to quality original and rare sounds by Keb Darge and numerous other great and famous DJs associated with the night.
Deep Funk is morphing into The Good Foot, Madame Jojo’s new club night launching on 4th June. Based on the Deep Funk philosophy – passion and respect for decades of black American music - The Good Foot incorporates Funk and Soul and introduces a broad international range of closely-related musical genres such as Mambo and R&B, all with the same irresistable appeal as the legendary funk-fest. The new night is brought to you with impeccable taste, love and integrity by two of the UK’s greatest DJs, Snowboy and Healer Selecta - so we know that Deep Funk aficionados will slip smoothly and easily into this fabulous new groove!
On 28th May we’ll celebrate the glorious Deep Funk years, and the birth of its new ‘offspring’. It’s not the end - it’s a new beginning …
