Kitsch Cabaret is an evening of feathers, glitz and dazzling live music every Saturday right in the heart of London’s Soho, a classic combination of the bygone music hall and Vegas floorshow, providing drinks, dinner and dancing in the backdrop of the art-deco decadence and vintage glamour of Madame Jo Jo’s.
Madame Jo Jo’s has a rich heritage dating back nearly half a century and has acquired a reputation for being one of the world’s premier cabaret venues, as well as a leader in London’s cutting-edge clubbing and music scene. Kitsch Cabaret reconciles these elements – presenting old-school Soho glamour with a twist and a unique format for a thoroughly modern audience. Unlike most cabaret or vaudeville shows, Kitsch Cabaret offers top-notch trained musicians who improvise and add a distinct edge to the songs they perform, as part of a frequently changing musical programme.
Featuring Miss Terri, the hostess with the mostest, her all singing, all dancing troupe and the infamous Barbettes the evening will provide unrivalled fun, frolics and flirting, providing quality, but light-hearted entertainment all served with extra fizz.
Kitsch Cabaret – Programme
Kitsch Cabaret has a line-up and structure like no other, providing its audience with the works – dinner, drinks and dancing, with live music and witty repartee all thrown in for good measure.
Miss Terri – compere without compare – whose chameleon-like talents represent the vocal styles of cabaret icons, from Sally Bowles to Kylie, fronts an exquisite line-up of performers, covering Jazz standards, classic show tunes and recent pop and disco hits, in a show that spans the decades. Songs are all performed live by the talented range of voices and Miss Terri, a professional singer and actress has described the musical influences as “a culmination of my musical icons, Shirley Bassey, Billie Holiday, Abba and Madonna…a variety to suit all tastes”. Extravagant costumes, skits and high-kicks add glitz and fun to the performance, making the show an unsurpassed theatrical cocktail.
Doors open at 7pm, and a supper is served to the table at 7:30pm in time for the show’s commencement at 8pm. Before and during the performance, Kitsch Cabaret’s resident hostesses, The Barbettes escort patrons to their table and serve up entertaining witticisms and unique commentaries with the cocktails and canapés, adding extra flavour and a personal touch to the impeccable service.
After the show has finished, patrons are escorted to a nearby glamourous night spot by the Barbettes, where they will receive VIP entry and dance the night away to the hottest sounds of dance, disco, Funk and Pop – a perfect ending to a wonderful evening.
